Maritime wars took a noteworthy change amid the common war. On March 8 1862 the Confederates revealed a ship that would change maritime fighting everlastingly, making wooden body ship outdated. Movie Analysis Fury Essay Throughout the movie, Fury, there were many times where the characters had to use critical thinking. Critical thinking is when you study a clear, reasoned judgment or decision. Norman Ellison, the main character, and his team were put to the test in many different scenarios. The decisions that one person made ended up affecting the whole team. Critical thinking is important, but it is also important to make judgments quickly and efficiently. What would you do if you had to kill a child, knowing that if you did not, someone else would die? Norman was faced with this conflict. He had to decide if he should shoot the children he saw in the woods or allow them to live. After thinking about it he did not shoot the children, and because he did not do his job and allowed them to live the tank in front of his team got blown to pieces, and his men died. I do not believe he made the right decision because when it came down to it, even though they were young children they were still the enemy. He should have shot them and have been quicker about it. He probably thought it through, and at the time shooting children most likely sounded crazy to him, but after his people got blown up it brought him back to reality. I believe that was one of the turning points to him making better decisions. There was a time when Wardaddy, Brad Pitt, had to decide how to help Norman become a better soldier. He had the choice to let some of the other soldiers kill the German soldier or he could make Norman do it. The cons to making Norman do it is he could possibly pass out or kill himself from the guilt of taking another man’s life. The pros are that he might realize that this is his job and he’s saving more lives than he’s taking. Brad Pitt chose to make Norman kill the man. Norman was very scared and sad. He rejected it at first, but he had no choice. A part of critical thinking is living with the choices that you make, right or wrong. Brad Pitt also had another choice to make using critical thinking. There was a massive battalion coming straight toward the tank that had just broke down. He had the choice to stay and fight or to run and hide. If he stayed and fought he knew he was going to die, but if he ran and hid he and his team would most likely be safe for the time being. Brad Pitt chose to stay, and so did his team. Making this choice, he had to come up with a tactical plan and execute it correctly he also had prepare to die. They all had to think quickly when making this decision because if they had stop to write the pros and cons down they would have died anyway without putting up a fight or having a chance to run. I agree with the choice they made in staying and fighting. Yes, they all died accept for Norman, but the choice that they made was the choice of heroes.

View Message LinkedIns New Frustrating Email Functionality Today I opened up my inbox and saw I had a message from a LinkedIn contact. â€Å"Maybe he’s interested in my services!† I thought. Of course, I couldn’t tell what he had written, because all the subject line said was, â€Å"John sent you a new message.† And all the body of the email had was a line saying â€Å"You have 1 new message† – along with John’s head shot and partial headline. I had to click â€Å"View Message† to find out what the heck this guy wanted to talk about. I was already angry by the time I clicked â€Å"View Message† to be brought to the LinkedIn website. And when I got there, I discovered that his message said †¦ ready for this? †¦. â€Å"Thanks.† Yep, I had wished John a happy birthday and he was thanking me. That was it. If I had been able to see this message in my email inbox, all would be well. I could have deleted it and someday gotten around to replying to John with a thumbs up – or not. But as of about a month ago, LinkedIn is forcing us to go to their website to read our mail. Strangely, I haven’t found anyone talking about this on the interwebs. Am I the only person who doesn’t like this change? I mean, I don’t usually write rants in my weekly blog, but this new messaging functionality is not working for me. Here’s What I Don’t Like: I have to click on a message and go to LinkedIn without knowing whether I want to read the message. It’s often a waste of time. Flagging messages for follow-up has become less integrated. I can flag the message in my inbox, but when I want to follow up, I need to go to the LinkedIn platform to remind myself what the conversation was. LinkedIn seems to be pushing people to subscribe to LinkedIn Premium in order to have their messages seen. The thing is, if someone sends me an inMail, I can view the entire message. So I’m encouraged to send inMails, which are only available through LinkedIn Premium, instead of sending regular messages which can’t be read from people’s inboxes. I find myself not wanting to click, not wanting to go to LinkedIn. Since it’s my job, I do it. But what about the people receiving my messages? Will they open them? I’m afraid fewer and fewer of my non-inMail communications will be read as people get tired of blindly clicking on â€Å"View Message.† LinkedIn didn’t send any notification that I know of to their subscribers letting us know about this change. For a while after the Microsoft merger, communications from LinkedIn seemed to have gotten better. They were announcing changes before they happened! Recently, however, there have been no announcements, no notifications. I don’t like being in the dark, especially as someone whose job it is to advise people about changes in the LinkedIn platform. Take Action Am I alone here? Anyone else who is peeved by this change? Or has the collective LinkedIn community thrown its hands up in the air on this one? In the past, when enough people have complained about a change, LinkedIn has reverted back to the preferred functionality. Perhaps we can change the way our emails are appearing? They are large trees often reaching 60 feet (20 m) in nature. It is a native to south western of India, Philippines, Sri Lanka and east of Malaysia.It is believed that jackfruit’s origin to the rainforests of the Western Ghat of India. It was introduced to into northern Brazil in the mid of 19th and became very popular there. The jackfruit tree is believed to be indigenous to the south western rain forests of India. It is widely cultivated in the tropical regions of Indian subcontinent, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brazil for its fruit, seeds and wood. The tree grows best under tropical humid and rainy regions but rarely survives cold and frosty conditi ons, grows to as high as 30 meters, higher than the mango tree.During the season, each tree bears as many as 250 large fruits, supposed to be the  largest tree-borne fruit in the world. It is an exceptionally nutritious vegetable tree with  a variety of potential uses.The tree itself is rather slender, with drooping branches  that grow to approximately 10 m in height. In cultivation, it is often cut back annually to 1 meter or less and allowed to regrow so that pods and leaves remain within arm's reach. The  immature  green pods called â€Å"drumstick† are probably the most valued and widely used part of the tree. They are commonly consumed in India and are generally prepared in a similar fashion to  green beans  and have a slight  asparagus  taste. The seeds are sometimes removed from more mature pods and eaten like  peas  or roasted like  nuts.The leaves are highly  nutritious, being a significant source of  beta-carotene,  Vitamin C,  protein,  iron, and  potassium. Chapter III RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Research Method The study made use of the experimental method to assess the effectiveness of jackfruit seed flour mixed with dried malunggay leaves and monggo beans. The exper imental method comprised the systematic procedure that was used in the course of the present study.Preparation of the Jackfruit, Malunggay and Mongo Beans Flour Mixture Preparation of the individual ingredient of the flour mixture is first done separately. The jackfruit seeds were first boiled to easily remove the seed coat. After removing the seed coat, the seeds were ground into a pulp, sieved, and oven baked until it was ready to be grounded into flour like consistency. The malunggay leaves on the other hand were sun-dried first until it was ready to be finely grounded and sieved. The monggo beans underwent the same procedure as the jackfruit seeds. When all the three components were ready they were evenly mixed.Preparation of Flour The Experimental Set-up Two groups of two day old broiler chicks of almost equal weight made up of 15 chicks each were used. The control group were fed with commercial chick feeds, specifically chick starter feeds, without the flour mixture supplement . The experimental group were fed with chick starter feeds with the flour mixture supplement. Each group were fed ad libitum (ie, spontaneously, without any fixed hours or times in a day) for 10 days (from day 3 to day 13 post hatching). The null hypothesis (H0) is that there is no significant difference in weight of chicks fed with commercial chick feeds supplemented with flour mixture of jackfruit seed, dried malunggay leaves and monggo beans and the weight of chicks fed with commercial feeds only. The alternative hypothesis (Ha) is there is significant difference in weight of chicks fed with commercial hick feeds supplemented with flour mixture of jackfruit seed, dried malunggay leaves and monggo beans and the weight of chicks fed with commercial feeds only. The result from the statistical treatment is the calculated t is larger than the t critical so the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha)is accepted. It is found that the flour mixture of jackfruit seed, dried malunggay leaves and monggo beans is effective as a feed supplement to commercially manufactured chick starter feeds. Findings The following findings were drawn from the research. 1.That there is significant difference between the weights of the chicks of the experimental and control group before and after feeding. The chicks of the experimental group, that is, those fed with chicken starter feeds with the jackfruit, malunggay and monggo beans flour mixture were found to be heavier than those of the control group. 2. The alternative hypothesis is accepted that there is significant difference in weight of chicks fed with commercial chick feeds supplemented with flour mixture of jackfruit seed, dried malunggay leaves and monggo beans and the weight of chicks fed with commercial feeds only.Conclusion With the context of the findings of this study, the researchers conclude that the jackfruit seed flour mixed with dried malunggay l eaves and monggo beans is an effective chicken feed supplement. Recommendation Based on the findings and conclusions, it is recommended that the future researchers should add new ideas that would enhance the effectiveness of the product.
